The Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) approved Act No. 14158/2025 in October of this year, with the aim of maintaining technical and regulatory equivalence with other countries. This harmonization is essential to ensure interoperability, foster technological advancement, and simplify global certification and compliance processes.
With its approval, Act No. 14448/2017 will undergo significant changes, impacting various types of equipment, both already certified and not yet certified. These include WMAS wireless microphones (multichannel audio systems), access points, routers, devices using LoRa and Wi-SUN technologies, among others.
Some products may even require additional testing during the certification renewal process. Although the new Act is already in effect, its application will become mandatory only as of April 6, 2026. This means there is still an opportunity to avoid additional testing for certificates expiring between December 2025 and October 2026, provided that renewals are completed before the mandatory compliance date.
